Recommendation for double stroller with high weight limit, preferably?

We will have a one year old and a newborn. Our son is off-the-charts for size. We really want a stroller that will last us for a good long time.

We only have a sedan so we would like one that won't take up the whole trunk unless that's simply unrealistic.

We also need one that will fit a Graco infant seat.

Recommendations? Pros and Cons of back to front versus side-by-side types?

I've heard good things about the BOB ones, they are supposed to be really good about fitting through doors and whatnot. And allegedly they are small enough when folded to carry in a bag. They aren't cheap though. I'm going to go look at some this weekend. http://www.bobgear.com/strollers/index.php

Frankly my son was one when my baby was born and I didn't need a double stroller until recently. My toddler rarely uses a stroller and I use baby carriers (not carseats, I mean cloth ones). So I stick the baby in the carrier and then if I need the stroller I take it. I've also been considering a sit 'n' stand but my toddler really only sits in a stroller if he's exhausted.

I have a huge double in the basement, maybe one day I'll use it. It was free from someone else they only used it a few times because the child in front could put their feet down and stop the stroller.

Also I have had the whole graco travel system through two babies and I've used the carseat attached to the stroller 3 times. It just makes the stroller too tippy, and its horrible for the baby. The over heat, they aren't comfortable, etc. Honestly I don't think this is really a deal breaker, you won't find it hard to get by without it. You can also get wee tiny metal frames that convert any infant carseat into a stroller that practically fold up as much as an umbrella.

The con of the inline ones is that the back baby can't see. However there are some nested ones where the one in back is below the one in front so they can be crammed together that are pretty tiny.

Side by sides are of course wide.

Weight loss help?

Im between the age of 12-14 and I really want to lose weight. talked to my mom about it because I am sick of being made fun. I know i'm pretty but I just dont like the way my stomach looks. My question is: I was wondering if there are FREE online meal plans for kids and other stuff. I have tried to lose weight before but this time I am really determined to do it because like I said I am sick of being made fun of. I want to be skinny and not over weight when I go back to school. I want to have more friends and be able to have more fun and not be concerned about my weight. I have to admit that I have not eaten good things. I always eat the whole box of macaroni and cheese, four pieces of pizza, cookies, ice cream, cinnamon rolls, and a lot of soda. I really want to stop. I decided to go to the fitness room where I live and lately I have been going swimming at the pool with my grandma. please no rude comments and i want something FREE bc i dont want to have to put money into it. I'm trying to loose weight to this summer and I've also, been picked on to and I'm fed up with it like totally.

Some quick info:
1. Skinny isn't always healthy
2. Just say to yourself you can do it.
3. When exercising gradually add to it (ex. You do 10 push ups when you start well as your body begins to understand this next time go for 11 or 13 etc.)
4. No matter how fa you are, you are still PRETTY.
5. Say this to yourself when you wake up

A- and
T- Thick

Kids Weight Loss Diet

Weight loss/diet/exercise counseling?

I'm a single mother/student/part-time worker. I won't go into the details of my schedule and restrictions here but suffice it to say I'm looking for someone (trainer, dietician, etc.) who can help me out, if possible, since I obviously can't afford to go to one in person. I just need someone to help me with ideas for working out at home, menu options, etc. and be kind of like an online support. So far I've lost about 8 lbs. of the 50 I need to drop (5'1, wide-build frame, 152 lbs. currently) and I need to tone up since having the kid. If anyone would be willing to help or knows where I can go to get help or has any constructive, positive suggestions please let me know. Thanks!

Try going onto www.sparkpeople.com...its really useful and helpful. They give you meal plans if you want them, exercises you can do at home. Its an online community with discussion boards and everything for you, and it would be easier for you to find people who are serious about losing weight to help you. They have online articles that can help you with coping with food, like emotional eating for example and exercises.Try it out. Oh, and its free. It seems like it would be very useful for you. The number one concern of any parent in the world is always going to be, or at least should be, the safety of their child. From secure high chairs to the right playpen for your young toddler to having the right toys for the age level of your young child, security and safety will always plague the minds of parents. When it comes to looking for a child booster seat or toddler booster seat, that concern tends to grow even more. After all, cars can be frightening, and we all know how deadly car crashes can be when people do not wear seatbelts or are not properly fastened. That being said, did you know that many parents do not realize that they have improperly secured their child booster seat ortoddler booster seat from the time they purchased it? Thankfully, with the proper seat and correct technique, installing your child's seat will be a breeze and you'll be able to tell how much more secure the seat is fastened.

So, the first tip about a child booster seat? Always make sure that you install and tighten the seat so that it is completely secure. Don't be afraid to use your own body weight so that the seatbelt gets fastened in a tight, safe position so that there is less than one inch of movement the seatbelt can travel. You always want to make sure that when you have a child booster seat or a toddler booster seat that you actually check it every time you put your child in that seat. You want to be sure that if locking clips are recommended that you always use them. The different safety features of a child booster seat are always with your child's best interests in mind, so make sure you're checking to do all of the installation recommendations.

If you are using a child booster seat or toddler booster seat, it is important that you realize the purpose and function of the booster seat. The seat should enable your child to use the actual seatbelt properly until they are old enough to actually have a seatbelt alone. Make sure you have the child booster seat or toddler booster seat in a seat that has both a lap and a shoulder strap, as otherwise, the proper support is not there. If you don't actually have shoulder straps in your back seat, you need to consider talking to your local car dealer about possibly retrofitting, as it is highly dangerous for a child to ride with only a lap belt.

After all your adjustments to securing the seat, you simply need to make sure that the child properly fits in it, and there are a few necessary signs. For one, the child's head must be supported by either the booster seat or the headrest of that seat. Having poor neck and head support for a child is incredibly dangerous in the event of an accident of any kind. Along with the head rest, you need to check and be sure that the shoulder strap of the seatbelt is across your child's chest and shoulder, never their neck or face. You want the lap belt down low over the hips as well, and not so high that it is on the stomach.

Even if you’ve been physically active and given your diet the special attention that it deserves, you may find that once you hit your 50’s, you’ve gained weight—and it is hard to get it off. Unless you’re willing to work for it, it’s not realistic to think you’re going to have the same body you did 20 or 30 years ago.  So, what is the healthy weight for women in their 50's?

You’ve seen the ideal weight charts at your doctor’s office or even online. For each inch of height, there is a weight range given. When you were younger, you may have been at the lower end of that range.  But the healthy weight for women in their 50's is most likely at the higher end of that range—especially if you have a slight build.

Why is that? Let’s take a look at some of the reasons why women in their 50’s tend to gain weight.

The first answer is biological: you’re either menopausal, or just about pre-menopausal. While menopause is a perfectly natural part of the aging process, it means that your body is going through perhaps the most significant set of changes since you had kids. And part of those changes is weight gain—especially if you’re not physically active.

Those creaky joints might be keeping you from your normal exercise routine, and if that’s so, then the resulting metabolic slowdown will translate into weight gain, even if your diet hasn’t changed. It’s OK to work through the creakiness, which is a direct result of the normal “wear and tear” your joints have experienced after the “first 100,000 miles!” But if the pain is intense then you should consult with your doctor, as it could be osteoarthritis.

Your changing lifestyle could also be a factor in your weight gain.  While it might not be obvious to you, your life is probably very different than it was when you were at your thinnest! You’re no longer running around taking care of your kids, who are all grown-up; and you probably have more leisure time with your friends and family, which usually means overeating at Applebee’s.

Not that you’re busting a gut at the early bird buffet, but, think about how you ate in your 20’s and 30’s. You probably grabbed something on the go, or even skipped a meal because you were just too busy.  Well, now you’ve got more leisure time, which means you’re probably having three healthy meals a day. Delicious indeed, but pretty soon you’ll have to forget about ever wearing your favorite dress again.

So, while there is no set-in-stone healthy weight for women in their 50's, take a look at a weight chart and see where you fit in. It’s OK if you’re a little bit high o that chart; but it’s best to talk to your doctor about any weight gain you’re not comfortable with.
