Losing weight has become a national obsession, and with good reason: we all want to look our best. We do it for health, we do it to look sexy to the people to whom we feel attracted. Sure, diet pills from the big drug companies might or might not work, but who knows what they are doing to our bodies: just look at the fen-phen debacle of the late-1990s.
Happily, there are ways to naturally lose weight while avoiding potentially dangerous diet pills manufactured by drug companies. Here are 5 secrets for how to naturally lose weight fast:
Secret #1: Know your calorie math: Put simply, over a given period of time you will lose weight if you burn more calories than what you take in. Pretty simple math, right? The unfair thing is: some people have a naturally slower metabolic rate (the rate at which your body naturally burns calories). That is why you have thinner friends who can eat twice as much as you eat without gaining a pound. However, even they are not exempt from the calorie math. So, start becoming acutely aware of how many calories you are taking in per day versus how many you are burning through exercise. If the math adds up, you will be "subtracting" pounds from your rear, thighs and tummy before you know it.
Secret #2: Drink more water: Water is the natural way to flush your system clean. As you begin to lose more weight, your blood will be flooded with toxins rejected from the cells in your body. Drinking more water will help flush these toxins out. Water also helps with basic cellular functioning and, importantly, metabolism.
Secret #3: Get a pedometer: Pedometers, or step counters, are really great little inventions. Just attach one to your belt in the morning, reset the counter to zero, and go about your day. At the end of the day, remember or write down your "score" (number of steps). After a few days, you may find yourself trying to outdo your own high score! A pedometer makes it easier to visualize the connection between your daily activity and your calorie burning. Pedometers start at around $1.
Secret #4: Cut out dessert: People who try to diet usually end up gaining all of the weight back within a few weeks. Reason: when we deprive ourselves of food, we end up craving it more and then end up blowing the diet. Try this: instead of going cold turkey on sweets, just cut out your after-dinner dessert. Even shaving those extra 200 calories from your daily diet means taking in 6,000 fewer calories a month!
Secret #5: Learn which snack foods are good for you: Snacking is one of the biggest enemies of a weight loss plan. Eating healthier snacks can actually make you want to eat less. Reason: your body craves healthy food. When you eat right, you will be less hungry.
Losing weight naturally is the best way to go. As you lose weight, you will feel better and you will look better to those to whom you are attracted. By understanding the connection between caloric intake and calorie burning, you have the right foundation in place for see significant weight loss.

Many that have succeeded know the concept “be do have”. This concept gives the understanding that in order to have something you have to do, but in order to do something you have to be. The order is very important because if you can’t exercise the first, it make the second and third very hard.
Losing weight, is thought of to be one of the hardest things to do. This is mainly because of the being factor. If you say to yourself “I’m going to lose weight!” Then you start exercising, dieting, and basically doing the things we have learned to do to lose weight! But you don’t see yourself with the weight being eliminated, then usually you efforts are futile. If in your dreams you are an over weight person, when you look in the mirror all you ever see is an over weight person, guess what you will remain? An over weight person! Its is very true you can only have what you can see! If you can’t see yourself as a millionaire then it will be hard to get or maintain that millionaire status.
Being is only part of the equation! In the world there are a lot of information addicts that never do, but they are quick to tell you what to do(side bar)! Once you grasp the idea that “I am perfectly in shape” or “I am a millionaire” then, the doing has to come into play. Doing can at times, can be just as hard as being, due to fear and procrastination.
An eastern mindset is you learn by doing not by sitting under some while they lecture you. While I am a supporter of education, I believe the original idea of it has gotten out of hand. Many of the text books that exist were written by those that did first, then they wrote about what they did. To learn from someone elseÂ’s mistakes rather than you own is a wiser decision, but this is opposite of what most of us do. We general listen to others experiences, do a little and give up. This stems from the being factor! We must begin doing or experimenting, so that we can create books that challenge the generations to come.
The next factor to discuss is having. Having is what we all strive for on a daily basis. However, in order to have we need to do and in order to do we need to be. But, there is a trick to this, you need to know what you want before you can do. To only discover what you want is not enough. One of the things IÂ’ve had to get a clear picture on was what IÂ’ve wanted. Without this clarity, we tend to do things that really waste our time as well as others. This is funny, because not knowing what you want comes from us not being. Because we donÂ’t believe we deserve to have things or obtain a certain status, it effects what we do and what we have. So, in all we have to change how we feel about ourselves in order to do and have!
Prosperity is not on the outside, it starts on the inside then reflects or expresses its self outwardly!

Gone are the days teachers can spend all of their time teaching with only chalk and a chalkboard. Today's students require lots of mental stimulation to keep them engaged in the learning process. This includes all subjects and especially math. Since most students these days are familiar with computers and computer games, the jump to using math games to assist in teaching is the next logical step.
Free online math games can easily be found on the World Wide Web and can be incorporated in the classroom to help teach and reinforce math lessons. This may range from using an online math game as a class demonstration to being set up as an activity station for the individual student. Rather than have a child sitting idle after they finish a test or activity, why not have the child play an online game. (With the sound down of course).
You can find many types of online math games to suit your teaching needs and why not use a less advanced game for review and reinforcement. The math games range from easy to very difficult and one game may address one subject while others may address many subjects. A game might be an obvious math game that students find fun to play because they are trying to beat a high score or another student's score. Other free online math games are quick paced such that the student enjoys playing just for the sake of seeing how long they can last before they lose the game.
In addition to using the free online math games in a classroom setting, math games can be used by students at home in their spare time. A list of gaming websites can be provided to the students by the teacher in printed form or by posting the list on the school's website. And if you are unable to get the students interested in math games you can always encourage them to play online logic games.
Marilyn Vos Savant, considered one of the smartest people in the world, stated that math is just numbers with logic wrapped around them. That being the case, logic games, although not math games by definition, will help students think logically and should help them improve their math abilities. A big plus with these games is that students may not even realize that they are learning because they are having so much fun.
Whatever type game you choose/recommend for your students to play you can't go wrong with free online math games. They're like wolves in sheep's clothing. They appear fun and innocent to the students but underneath it all they are all education.

Towson, Md. - June 2009 - The new tie and golf balls are a nice gesture, but this Father's Day dad might need a gift society has conditioned him not to ask for- HELP! This could mean a helper to do simple tasks dad can no longer manage or a companion to help dad socialize and relieve depression and loneliness. Recent studies show men don't seek psychological and physical help as easily as women because our culture preaches to boys early on that asking for help is not masculine but rather a sign of weakness.
"We see many elderly men needing the most help but they are the last to ask for it," says Peter Ross, CEO and founder of Senior Helpers, the nation's fastest growing provider of in-home senior care. "An elderly man could be suffering from deep depression or a physical ailment, but he's too proud to seek assistance."
Just ask Mark Snider from Charlotte, North Carolina. His 83-year-old dad, Rod Snider, had symptoms of dementia for several months before he finally told his family he had a problem. Rod was having difficulty sleeping and was becoming forgetful. His family blamed old age.
Mark says his dad suddenly turned over his car keys and said, "Son I no longer feel I should drive." Mark hired Senior Helpers for his dad, 24/7, to help him back to bed during the night so he would not accidentally fall, take his medicine on time, go for walks and even work with Scrabble pieces and math flash cards to keep his mind sharp. Rod died last month from an aggressive form of dementia, just months after he was officially diagnosed.

- A new national poll conducted by Senior Helpers found 70% (7 out of 10) adult children would overwhelmingly choose their mom over their dad to move in with them if their elderly parents could not take care of themselves. Ross believes, " children think of mom first because she's more likely to ask for help while dad appears independent and in control."

"The best way to get dad help is to offer it with an emphasis on problem solving rather than emotion," adds Ross. "Since men are competitive and success oriented, the best way to approach Dad is to acknowledge the courage it takes to ask for and accept assistance and then point out why it is a good idea."
Ross also advises basing your offer to help dad on these warning signs:
- Difficulty getting around. Falls are the leading cause of death and injury for Americans over age 65.
- Memory loss. It's one thing to forget where the keys are. It's another to forget if you took your medicine, left the stove on, if you forget the day or your location. Severe memory loss could be a sign of severe dementia.
- Change in appearance or behavior. Weight loss could indicate a senior is not eating properly. A lack of hygiene or unkempt appearance may be a sign of depression or the inability to perform the basic activities of daily living.
