Pregnancy Weight Loss Diet

Having a baby might be a wonderful experience for all women but after having endured nine months of pregnancy of which 5 to 6 months you were busy gaining excess weight, we understand if you feel like you have had enough and want to go back to your normal size and lose all that extra weight. Your pre pregnancy shape might be urging you to go back to that old look you loved yourself in as soon as possible. However you should not be impatient as post pregnancy you initially have a few new problems to take care of than to worry about going back to your normal looking self. So if you have become mommy for the first time ever, take our advice and take it slow as shedding all that extra weight suddenly and too rapidly might actually have a counter effect on you, something that you really have not been looking forward to! You are not a celebrity mom and you did not have the ace nurses, dieticians and fitness experts next to you to guide you through your term of pregnancy so it is pretty silly for you to think you will look as unaffected as celebrity mummies do.
It takes almost half a year after your delivery for your body to return to its normal state. So even if you have decided to not breast feed your child which mind you is not a very wise decision in the first place, do not be in a hurry to cut those calories you are eating at present. The process of delivery is not only exhausting and tiring but also pretty much traumatic and if you leave your body under nourished and do not give it enough food to recuperate back to its normal healthy self, you will be the only one to face the brunt of it all. Also running around and taking care of your baby after the delivery will exhaust you quite a bit for which you cannot afford to feel alack of energy or any of the like. You will find it difficult to get those regular sleeps as well as your regular meals amidst all this change in your schedule so eat as much whenever you find time and gradually slack in on your meal to regain the beautiful body you once possessed.
In fact let us take this opportunity to tell you that since your body is quite weak after the delivery takes place, exercising very rigorously to shed extra weight just immediately is not a very good idea either. We are not telling you to be static and lazy and neglect your health completely either because if you do that like most mothers who begin to gain weight during pregnancy and never shed it you will become obese too. But start gentle and avoid rigorous exercise. Consult your doctor about the food you need to eat. Your doctor should be the best guide to help you out with the pros and cons of the different kinds of exercise that you can take up just now. However you should know that exercising is a healthy practice and does not intervene with your capacity to breast feed. So do exercise but do not torment your body!
Now if you are the mother who is breast feeding her child, you would be producing almost 850 ml of breast milk every day. For this generation, you would be needed to take in at least 500 extra calories every day while you are lactating. Also this is considered as your nursing period and you would be in need of the extra nutrients so make sure you follow the diet chart provided to you by your doctor. The right time to start cutting down on your calories is 2 or 3 months post your delivery when you feel as strong and agile as before. Also the resuming of a normal period is an important condition. Now you can adopt a stricter diet as well as a more vigorous exercise regime. Losing 1 pound of weight every week should be just perfect and in sync with what you had gained while you were pregnant. So do not rush and take it slow. Allow your body to feel human.
If you are wondering how long it will take for you to shed all the fat you gained, this rate varies from mother to mother. Since you must have gained 25 to 35 pounds during the past nine months, you would have lost 12 to 14 pounds of this already during delivery and the remaining 12 to 21 pounds should not take more than 8 months to lose. If you gained up to 35 pounds or 47 pounds, in the first case you would have to go in for a severe diet and in the second case, you will have to work out very strenuously too!

How much weight a week do Babies gain in the last weeks of pregnancy?
Just out of curiosity... Im 36 weeks pregnant and i had an ultrasound at 33weeks 4 days and my duaghter to be was currently 4.4 pounds which is about 4 lbs 7 ounces im guessing.. considering that, im wondering how much weight shes gained from that time till now, and what i could be expecting to deliver! any ideas??
about a pound a week... an ounce-ish a day. you can probably expect a 8 and a half pound baby...

Baby Weight Chart Average

Low predicted birthweight or normal? Doctors wrong?
I am currently 24 weeks and at 21 weeks the Dr did an ultrasound and found that the baby's weight was in the 17th percentile. He says the baby has been growing in the same curve so she has not stopped growing or anything, she just seems to be smaller than average. But, my question is before I got pregnant I was charting my ovulation and so im pretty sure when I got pregnant and it coincides with the first date they gave me which was dec 30. Afterward they changed it to dec 26. Could the diff in those days be what is causing her to be smaller? They say she measures a week younger but that she has been that way since the beginning. I know its only 4 days difference but that combined with the fact that me and my husband are small in stature could mean the diff between a healthy baby and soemthing being wrong. I heard if she drops below 10 percentile that this is abnormal. What does that mean exactly? Thanks so much for your help.

Weight Pregnancy Week

Here's a guide to keep you in pace with the changes taking place in your womb in the second trimester pregnancy week by week.
The second trimester lasts from week 14 to week 26.
The 14th Week
Your baby is 2 ounces. It has tiny arms and legs and a prominent heartbeat. You should have lots of fiber in your diet to combat the problem of constipation, which is common in this pregnancy week.
The 15th Week
Your baby has become hairy! The hair helps her to regulate the temperature during birth. Your belly gets larger due to the increase in the size of uterus. It's time to go for a prenatal check up to ensure your baby is developing properly.
The 16th Week
Your baby has become active. It starts kicking and twisting. Your abdomen will become heavier, as the baby grows further. As you keep a tab on your second trimester pregnancy week by week, do not forget to visit your doctor for amniocentesis. Here, your amniotic fluid is tested to rule out any birth defects in your baby.
The 17th Week
Your baby is becoming chubbier day by day. You are bound to gain more weight.
The 18th Week
Your baby can open her eyes and its digestive system has started functioning.
The 19th Week
Your baby gets covered by a waxy substance in order to shield it from the wet surrounding. This waxy layer also helps in sliding the baby smoothly out of your vaginal canal during delivery. Be prepared for strong mood swings, dry skin, boils and rashes.
The 20th Week
It's time for you to attend childbirth classes. You may feel pain in your abdomen, which is normal. There are new developments in your baby during this week. If it's a girl, her sex organs will begin to develop.
The 21st Week
At this stage, there is not much development. If there are twins, you may face swelling of feet due to edema.
The 22nd Week
Your baby's brain and sex organs are in the process of development. All other organs are completely developed. You may experience back pain due to the pressure exerted by the growing baby.
The 23rd Week
Your baby is hyperactive at this stage. You should be on the alert for preterm labor. Watch out for bleeding, spotting, and contractions.
The 24th Week
You should go for a prenatal check up to rule out the possibility of gestational diabetes.
The 25th Week
Your baby starts developing arteries and veins, and spinal column. Your backache may get severe.
The 26th Week
Your baby's respiratory system has developed completely by now. You are about to approach the third stage, which is also known as baby stage of pregnancy.
As compared to the first stage, the second stage is relatively easy. Ignorance is not bliss in pregnancy period. Know about second trimester pregnancy week by week and make your journey more enjoyable than fearful.
It is important to know about the changes that take place in your body during the second trimester pregnancy week by week. The first trimester pregnancy rarely goes smooth. But the second trimester plays the most important role in the development of your baby. By the time it is the third trimester pregnancy you are ready to face your pregnancy due date.

- Americans spend over $30 billion per year on weight-loss products and programs.
- Individuals with low thyroid levels may gain fat due to this abnormal condition. Have your thyroid levels checked every 3 to 5 years.
- Menopause in women is associated with increased abdominal fat and decreased bone density.
- Fitness is more synonymous with health than with body weight.
- Two spices that may slightly decrease hunger are turmeric and cinnamon-- common spices found in curry.
- Cutbacks in mandatory physical education have contributed to a decline in children's physical activity levels. When available, they often include little physical activity nor emphasize the fun aspects of exercise.
- There are over 24 genes associated with obesity. This direct genetic effect on obesity is estimated to be 25-40%. The other indirect genetic factors increases the genetic effect to approximately 70%.
- In a report from Di Pasquale (2004) SWIS Conference, a “high carbohydrate diet negates the metabolic effects of caffeine, such as increased mobilization and oxidation of fatty acids, during exercise.”
- Women who lose an average of 11 pounds decreased their risk for knee arthritis by 50%.
- Overweight individuals eat less calories than active people.
- Slim inactive men have 2.5 times the mortality rate than active overweight men.
- Even active individuals who have as much as 50 pounds over the recommended weight in weight charts have a lower mortality rate than slender individuals who are sedentary. (Blair & Paffenbarger, 1994; Blair, et al., 1989).
- In the November issue of the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology, study authors discovered that children who were born after their mother's bariatric surgery and weight loss had lower birth weight and waist circumference. The children were also 3x less likely to become extremely obese than the older siblings before the surgery. The younger children also had better cardiovascular endurance, reduced insulin resistance and lower cholesterol.
- EEOC reports that normal weight employees earn 2.5% more than their obese co-workers. This unfair practice is more prejudicial to female workers. Mark Roehling, a professor in the Department of Management, Western Michigan University found that mildly obese females earn 5-6% less than obese male workers (1% less) compared to their normal weight counterparts. Morbidly obese white women were 24.1 percent lower. However, wages of mildly obese white and black men were actually higher than their normal weight counterparts. Men only suffered wage penalties at the very highest weight levels.
- The study also shows that overweight people are often stereotyped in the workplace as being socially handicapped, emotionally impaired, and perceived as having negative personality traits.

The primary cause of stretch marks is pregnancy or sudden weight gain due to many possible factors. During puberty hormonal change is at its peak which sometimes triggers sudden weight gain. If you work out regularly your muscles grow very rapidly which might cause stretch marks on your skin. However the most commons reason for these scars is pregnancy, therefore it is sometimes considered to be women's issue.More than 80% of new mothers have to live with theses post pregnancy scars for at least a few weeks. Despite the fact that these marks are harmless, women feel very embarrassed to live with those ugly marks. am I gaining enough weight?
I am 15 weeks, and according to regular weight gain charts, I should have gained between 5 and 8 lbs by now. I havent even gained 1. I started off at 124 and am still the exact same. I find this odd , because with both my previous pregnancies with my girls, I was always in the proper range or even above. I have been eating the same and everything. My doctor hasnt said that theres anything wrong, but im still a little worried about it. Does anyone else have any experience with this ?
according to my doctor it's normal to not gain any weight at all through the first trimester. I gained a lot of weight with my first (and never got rid of it either) but with my second it was only 22 Lbs total all in the second and third trimester and this time around I'm 15 weeks (today) and have only gained 1 or 2 Lbs. so no worries.

What percentage of women gain weight on birth control?
I'm on the skinny side and am very self conscious about my weight. I don't have any disorders or anything, but I don't want to gain weight at all. That is a fear of mine. I have very painful periods and need to take birth control to help with the cramps. I'm just scared I'm going to gain 15 pounds. Sadly, I have small breasts also. I doubt my body will put the fat there though. Wouldn't it go to the places like the inner thighs where all my excess fat goes already?
Most women gain a little weight but it usually starts to go away after being on the pill for awhile. I didn't gain any weight though and I have been on the pill for 3 years. And sometimes it does go straight to your boobs, which is never a bad thing! LOL. I wouldn't worry. I love being on the pill. It has made my periods so much better. I would start on ortho tri cyclen low. It has a very low dose of hormones and won't cause as many side effects such as the weight gain. Hope this helped.

How much weight should i expect to gain?
I'm 14 weeks pregnant as of today and have gained about 2 or 3 pounds. I found this weight tracker on some website today and was terrified at the answer it gave me as to how much I should weigh at the end of my pregnancy. My starting weight was about 135. Today i weighed in at 138. How much weight did you gain during your pregnancy? What range will my ending weight be in?
Ideally, for a normal-weight person, you should gain between 25-35 pounds. Over-weight people should gain less while under-weight people should gain more. This is just "standard" guidelines, though.
I am 5'7" and started pregnancy at 165ish pounds. I'm now almost 35 weeks and I weigh 241 pounds. Yes, I've gained 76 pounds! But, I also developed gestational diabetes, hypothyroidism & toxemia. I'm retaining (my doctor estimates) about 30-35 pounds of fluid in my legs, feet & rest of my body.
